PARTY IN THE PARK – Frequently Asked Questions
When is it? It is Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5pm til 9pm
How much is it? $50 plus HST = $56
Where is it? At Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls (on the shores of Skaha Lake behind the IGA)
Where Can I Stay That is Close to You?
There are a couple of local B&Bs: www.bighornridge.com and www.godsmountain.com As well, Penticton is only about 15 minutes north of us and they have a large number of hotels, motels and B&Bs. Here are a couple of links to help you find a place. www.bedandbreakfast.com, www.tourismpenticton.com
How Can I Buy Tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online through EventBee which uses Paypal’s secure payment system. If you want to pay by cash or debit card, you can visit any of our member wineries or the BC VQA Wine Info Centre in Penticton at 553 Railway St.
Ticket price is $50+ HST, and that includes a picnic wine glass to keep, a 2 hour wine tasting from the 12 wineries of Okanagan Falls, a BBQ dinner catered by The Chef Instead, and live music by Kyle Anderson’s Rubber Band. Wines by the glass will be available for purchase after the tasting is over.
Unfortunately because we have a festival style tasting and the cash bar we cannot allow children in the fenced area where the event takes place. This is an event for people 19 years of age or over.
What Should I Wear?
It’s an outdoor event so come in summer gear and sandals… with a sweater or jacket for later in the evening.
Will you have live music?
Yes, absolutely! Kyle Anderson and his Amazing Rubber Band is known to put on quite a show … and dancing is encouraged! You can check them out here http://youtu.be/HQ20erp7SYY
Can I Bring a Lawn Chair?
Sorry, but no. Because of our space constraints and the large number of people who attend this event, we do not allow any chairs to be brought in. Chairs and tables are provided for dinner. You can bring a blanket if you would like to sit on the grass.
Is swimming allowed?
Not inside the fenced area, but the beach is right there so you can certainly go for a dip and come back to the party if you wish!
Can I Park my RV at the Park?
Yes, there is street parking, but alas, overnighters are not allowed. There are RV facilities in the area, though – please check with Tourism Penticton or Tourism Oliver.
Is There Transportation?
Unfortunately, there is no taxi service available in Okanagan Falls. However, we have connected with two of the touring companies:

Is it Wheelchair Friendly?
Yes. If you require assistance, please ask for help at the front gate and we will do everything we can to ensure your needs are met.
What Kind of Food Will Be Served?
The Chef Instead will be serving up delicious slow-cooked, southern style BBQ, with pulled pork and roast chicken and an assortment of salads. There are vegetarian options available. The food will be available starting at 6:30pm.
How does the wine tasting work?
The wineries of OK Falls will be pouring complimentary tastes of selected wines from 5 til 7pm. At 6:30 our cash bar will open and you will be able to purchase a large selection of our wines by the glass until we close at 9pm.
Can I buy your wine to take home?
We are not allowed to sell you wine to take home from the event, but we do encourage you to enjoy wine with your dinner. All of the wineries will be open the following day for purchases and visits.
